My dad liked dessert wines, he had a sweet tooth, I don't like sweet wine, the sweetest I go is a Portuguese Rose. In fact given the choice of choosing between French and Italian wines, I'd pick the Italian wines every time. The weather that we are all having must be impacting upon the French vineyards.
It is written that Thomas Jefferson and George Washington liked Sauterns very much.
There doesn't appear to be any news about Sauterns although there is a lovely B&B in that location.
