I was looking at local Sure Start children's centres yesterday and they've been handed over to the Barnardo's Children's Charity. The same charity that were given huge estates for children, that Barnardo's then sold off to property developers.
Would you trust a children's centre and its property in the hands of such a charity? Certainly not!.
When the wealthy gave their properties to be homes for children, it wasn't just because they wished to help orphan children, it was because they wished for those estates to stay in tact. To protect the country heritage of the nation and its green fields.
Now think about it, if Barnardo's hadn't sold off those properties, those stunning country estates could now be housing orphans from the UK and from abroad. Those estates could've been providing incredible homes for young families and their children for as long as they wished to live their rent free. That charity had no right to sell off those estates to property developers.
