On the 6th April, 2014, I wrote about 'Pruning the Mango Trees'. Today there is news about the EU and the mango's. The EU has banned mangos from India, and the Indian mango market is worth around 6 million to the UK economy. Daily Mail reports that Business owners are 'infuriated'. The ban will also impact on aubergines, gourds, and patra leaves from India.
'Monica Bhandari, of importers Fruity Fresh (Western) Ltd, based in West London, said her firm would lose out significantly and added: ‘It’s madness. Mangos will be burned in India because there will be no market for them.’
Is that true? As we know there are plenty of people in India that require food.
