CROSSED THE RUBICON MESSAGE

While in the kitchen this evening, I received the message "Crossed the Rubicon".

The phrase "crossing the Rubicon is an idiom that means "passing a point of no return" It can mean that they have reached a point where they cannot change a decision or course of action due to its seriousness.

The Rubicon is a shallow river in northeastern Italy, just south of Cesena and north of Rimini. The Latin word Rubico comes from an adjective, rubeus meaning "red". The river was so named because its waters are the colour red by iron deposits in the river bed.
