The BMA report that nearly two thirds (63%) of 23,838 doctors joining the GMC register in 2022 qualified outside of the UK. International medicine graduates made up 52 per cent of new joiners, while 10 per cent were doctors who graduated from within the European Economic Area.
When the NHS is so reliant on foreign doctors, it means that the NHS isn't self-sustainable, there is no health security because foreign doctors could choose to go home at anytime. It's the same with food in the UK, there is no food security because we don't grow enough food to feed the 100M population that farmers say we are feeding. That's why we are so dependent on foreign imports.
