There is now news from Scotland that 25 firefighters have tackled a major blaze in the common stairway of a tenement building above the 'HANGING BAT' pub in Edinburgh. [3]

There was also a fire at 'CASTLE Street', at TGI Friday's in Edinburgh and it began just before 13.00. The restaurant and neighbouring buildings were evacuated and streets including ROSE street were closed off. It is written that the roof collapsed as a result of the fire. [4]
