Chief Oliver Red Cloud passed over on American Independence Day, 4th July, 2013 age 93. He is described as a life long champion of the Lakota culture. A delegate to the United Nations. A descendent of one of the most important leaders in Native American history.

His nephew, Steve Emery said that his uncle was passionate about making sure the kids knew the Lakota ways and about the different treaties that had been agreed with the US government. There is still the outstanding matter of returning the land of the Black Hills to the tribes.
Love beyond measure to a great man that helped his people, the children. In loving memory of everything that he accomplished in his lifetime. We always hold the indigenous peoples in our hearts; with the divine right of self-determination; to honor their sacred land and people that live upon it.
