ISRAEL on NEUROTRAUMA

It is still Jewish New Year so let's have a blogpost about a discovery that brain damage can occur with a mild head trauma. The research shows that the brain's protective barrier can be damaged even without a reported concussion. The Jerusalem Post report that the research underscores the requirement for brain-imaging techniques that could potentially prevent neurodegenerative disorders.

The results of the research were published in the Journal of Neurotrauma.

Perhaps those researchers would like to look at my brain, as I had concussion at least twice when I was a child. The study concludes that "the current model of concussion is far too simplistic".

I think that applies to a lot of scientific studies. Science tends to home in on one factor, rather than look at all of the different factors and that is one of the reasons that scientific discoveries keep on changing.
