MINT HERB

It was back in the mid 90's when I received a divine message about mint, and today I've been pruning the mint. It's other name is MENTHA. It is written that the word MINT comes from the Greek word Mintha. In Greek mythology, the herb of hospitality, a deodoriser, used in rooms. Although it is also used as an aromatherapy oil on the body, and was used medicinally as an essence.

In Cooking

I like mint sauce in Greek yogurt with cucumber,  Tzatziki, also new potatoes cooked in mint too. Although I eat a lot of herb salads these days, great with the lettuce from the garden.

Mint is such a fresh fragrance, lovely in the home, I like to smell it everyday. It's good for dousing, it keeps most of the insects away, although not all of them.

I am thinking about new recipes and different uses for the mint because it grows so fast, and it has a lot of nutrients. This isn't the first time that I've grown mint, I have grown it before. Such a great herb.

The ancient Greeks used to make a barley drink with it, Kykeon, it sounds interesting. I used to like a creme de menthe in the summer in my younger years, just for a change. Of course there is also the mint in the Pimms.

Even the NHS in the UK recommend Mint for sufferers of IBS. I think it is great for a lot more than that health wise.

In that video that lady puts the mint in sunflower oil, I don't use sunflower oil. I put my mint cuttings into rice bran oil, rice bran oil is a natural source of Vitamin E so great for collagen boosting and great for the skin. It makes a great massage oil, directly massaged into the skin.

A freshing oil, useful for muscular aches and pains, circulation, and great in the summer months. A few drops in some more carrier oil, and you are ready to go. How about having a refreshing mint massage for your feet after a day at work, or massaging your hands prior to cooking. Mint has many wonderful uses, the leaves, a healing balm for the healing of the nations.

Mint is best grown in a container, as otherwise it just grows everywhere. How about spraying your home with a mint water, how lovely is that to freshen your home naturally and for no cost.
