I am very pleased that Mhairi Black was re-elected in the recent election, she is so real, bless her.
"Tories, it's your job to fix WASPI scandal". During Mhairi's speech, she mentions how she was contacted about a woman that committed suicide after the recent election over this issue, as she didn't know how she would manage financially. Mhairi Black has been solidly on this issue, as it impacts upon so many women. The WASPI women have also been brilliant, great tenacity.
Mhairi's full speech can be found on her Facebook page. This RT video is just a segment of it, very powerful. Another aspect of this is that it a double whammy, because if any of those women are living in social housing, which many are, they are also being charged a bedroom tax too. However, if they had received their pensions as promised when they began work, once they arrived at the original agreed retirement age, that tax would not apply.
Apart from this, there is another report from UN coming on how disabled people have been treated by the government too. The last time that I featured that, it was being presented in Geneva in 2017, prior to being slapped upon the British government. Apparently, the government have a 30bn N.I. surplus, not really surprising is it, when all of the WASPI's, paid in for N.I., so there is plenty of money to help women that were born in the 1950's. I really cannot think of any other generation that deserves it more.
