However, I must say that it is not just elderly people that are alone, many young people spend holidays and holiday time alone at home. Not just holiday time, but weekends too. It isn't restricted to how old you are.
I always used to make sure that I was available on the internet when required and where required to connect with people that required some presence in their lives. Be it truthfulness, faithfulness, spirituality, laughter, or just some company with someone that understands. Although I must admit it is always great to get a phone call from someone that cares about you, or a visit from someone that loves you.
