New Year Festival, Kollam Paravur Puttingal Temple caught fire due to fireworks say the media report. The BBC say that the explosion happened at 03.30 (22.00 GMT, Saturday).
The report says that at least 100 people have died at the Hindu temple in the Indian state of Kerala and at least 200 have been injured. However, the Indian reports mention over 350 injured. 15,000 pilgrims were visiting the temple for the Hindu celebrations for the last day of the a seven-day festival for the goddess Bhadrakali.

This is not the first explosion at an Indian festival this year. Its also the second explosion involving fireworks in this Chinese Year of the Monkey. The recent new moon was on the 'Day of Belief' so there was bound to be some activity. A lot keeps on happening at the Indian temples doesn't it?
