I did know a lady with the name of Pippa, she was the owner of a wine bar. She passed over soon after she received a large inheritance. I hadn't seen her for years, and heard about it from a friend. Her husband was involved in property and its refurbishment.
Robert Browning wrote a poem, 'Pippa Passes', published in 1841, in the first volume of his 'Bells and Pomegranates' series.
There is also a 'Pippa Passes' in Kentucky.
