HEALTH SAFETY

On the 12th August, 2016, the health issue of 'Health Security' was shared on this blog.

Today in the news, GP's now say that ten minutes isn't enough for an appointment with a GP to discuss the health conditions of the people. Although it is a known fact that some people are able to book a double appointment with some surgeries. It's important that people make a list of what they would like to discuss with a GP and take it with you. The article on the BBC website refers to 'Health Safety' due to the lives of patients being at risk due to the short amount of time that patients are given to discuss the latest developments with their health.

So we now have 'Health Safety and Security' at risk combined with the extra 22BN of cuts to the NHS that is coming across 44 areas of the country. STP's it's called, and it stands for 'Sustainable Transformation Plans', these plans have not been discussed with the general public. STP's, is enabling the state to sell off public assets, that includes land and property.

In my latest investigations of the new corporate structure of the NHS, I spoke to one of the health watch organisations for our area. The person that I spoke to was unable to respond to any of my questions and said that I would have to speak to the CEO. That she would get the CEO to phone me back, apparently the CEO was a doctor. That was two weeks ago, and the doctor did not ring back.

Also two weeks ago, I phoned the surgery for a different referral for a hospital, I was told by the secretary that the surgery would ring me back within a couple of days. The surgery never rang back either. Seriously, you couldn't run a business like it. Is it any wonder that the patients are not getting the help quick enough, and that people just give up?

The health of the nation is at stake, and with all the different stakeholders involved, it makes it almost impossible to get anything done. What is the use of having health watch organisations, if a) they cannot respond to questions from patients, and b) they are not defending patients and patients rights?

As far as I can see, there is no independent body that is representing patients and their individual cases. No one is defending patients, there is no legal aid either to help patients to obtain justice.
