LEGAL CRISIS - CRISIS OF ETHICS

During the conference held in 2023 by the legal profession, conference heard that there is a "Crisis of Ethics" in the legal profession. Prof. Barrington of anti-corruption practice at the University of Sussex, spoke of the problem of representing foreign oligarchs, corrupt and criminal individuals.

He said, "The debate can only take place if those within the legal profession are willing to accept that there is a problem. In certain circumstances there is a group of clients who not be represented by lawyers. Where the line should be drawn is exactly the right question. The question is not 'should a line be drawn'. The problem with the debate at the moment is the legal profession seems to be discussing only whether a line should be drawn".

Certainly, it is discrimination against the British people, when foreigners can get legal aid and British people can't get representation without paying a huge amount for it. Billions have been spent on representing foreign criminals, yet, British people can't even get legal aid to defend themselves from authorities that do their utmost to undermine the people.
