My grape vine likes sun and shade. Some of the herbs like full sun, some like little sun and shade, the celery and beetroot also do great in partial sun and some shade, although they do require their water. My tomato plants did great in sun and shade last year, so have put them in the same position this year.
It's important to make sure that what you are growing is in the right location. Location, location, location. I now have some courgettes growing, in addition to cucumbers that are being eaten each time they are ready, and the borlotti beans are coming on too.
Chilli's on last year's plant, that likes full sun, capsicum also this year. Rainbow chard, and lettuces, spinach, the garden is full, the blueberry bush was a great purchase last year, it's now at least four times the size it was and so healthy.
The goji berries are now taller than me. I am impressed. It will be interesting to see how they get on during the wintertime and of course let us not forget the lovely lilies, dianthus and fuchsia that give us so much colour and fragrance. Today I was told that one of the stores has stopped offering planters in June, as they overstocked last year.
