SISTER ROSETTA THARPE DAY

It was great to hear this wonderful singer from the 1930s this morning. Known has Sister Rosetta Tharpe, it is a pleasure to honour this great singer today, on this blog. Rosetta was born on March 20, 1915 and she passed over October, 9, 1973. From her profile on Wikipedia, an American singer, songwriter, guitarist and recording artist. Attaining popularity in the 30s and 40s with her gospel recordings. She joined the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in December, 2017. 

Rosetta inspired many great artists and it includes Little Richard, Johnny Cash, Meat Loaf, Neil Sedaka, Karen Carpenter, George Melly, Tina Turner and many others. Her profile says that today is her day, it is Sister Rosetta Tharpe Day in Pennsylvania, USA.
