This morning and today I kept on receiving the message "Mariupol", I waited to see what my attention was being brought too on this Mother's Day in the UK.
This video was made by an American Photographer, Patrick Lancaster. He has been reporting on the Ukraine conflict since 2014 and he lives in Ukraine with his family.
This video is 30 minutes long and Patrick interviews mothers that were evacuated with their children by the Russians. They are currently in a refugee camp provided by the DPR, providing them with warmth and food etc. They share their stories of what was happening in Mariupol prior to their evacuation.
One woman said that she didn't know where she'd like to go, whether to go back to Ukraine or go somewhere else. Another said she would take her children to her grandmother in Russia, another said she would go to family in Europe. These women and children are waiting for their papers to be processed.
