The rare breed from Italy, the Lagotto Romagnolo Truffle Hunter mentioned in a previous blog post.

Some say that the Italian curly retriever water dog is the origin of the poodle.

The historic dog was featured in a painting by Andrea Mantegna. The painting is called "The Meeting", and it is dated circa 1474.

In 2016, a Lagotto Romagnolo entered Crufts for the first time. 

There are only seven approved breeders in the UK.

They are very cute and very expensive. Figures of $4,000 are quoted in the U.S.

Far too expensive for my liking, although pedigrees are expensive in any breed of dog.
